Putting all the attention towards the deed, people forget all about the care after sex. Post sex care is equally important if not more. We spoke to Eugina who is a sexual and wellness coach who helps men and women create juicy and passionate relationships (her words). She has been exploring sexuality for over 14 years now and working in the space of Pleasure and Intimacy for nearly 4 years and a lot of things are still coming up even for her. Here is what she told us about her experience with post sex care.
Post Sex Care and Importance
She has worked with countless women and men who have developed major diseases by holding on to the resentment towards their partner. She herself has also experienced the impact of holding on to the resentment, which is why she understands the need to talk about this. Especially if the experience is not usual ( BDSM, Tantra and other dynamics), the connection that occurs is super powerful between the partners involved.
Lack of post sexual care can lead to resentment of your partner and in some cases even to trauma. Sometimes we don’t know or don’t say anything, trying to be strong and independent. In many cases, lack of connection after the sexual experiences triggers all kinds of issues like abandonment issues, not feeling safe, trust, daddy issues and being used is another big one.
The importance of aftercare:
Sex is an extremely vulnerable deed that you go through with your partner(s) and the expectation of desire being held during and even after is important. For you to be satisfied, a sense of safety and trust must be present. It helps you relax which would only result in amplified pleasure. When we do not talk about the experience that took place, we are overflowing with emotions inside. We need to vent. As sexual energy is the strongest energy there is, our feelings and emotions are very strong. Those emotions create a very strong response in our bodies.
Communication is key:
In all types of relationships, communication is key ( doesn’t make you clingy). Venting after your release is absolutely important. Yes, you may never see them again but for your own mental health vent as many emotions as you can. When you take the time to communicate, a deeper connection is made and all emotions and sensations will help you get to know each other. Post sex care will leave you and your partner happier than when you have found each other. It can save you from heartbreak and/ or future trauma.
